EISNET project (European Interactive Sensor-based Dynamic Defence Network)
A key development initiative carried out under the European Defence Fund (EDF) 2023. It focuses on the development of an architecture framework tool (EAFT) that will enable the integration and scalability of diverse weapon systems, sensors, and fire control centers (FCC). This solution will allow for the construction of a dynamic, network-centric structure, increasing operational efficiency on the modern battlefield.
Project Goal and Scope
The main objective of EISNET is to define a set of common concepts, rules, and functions that will allow for the cooperation of systems with different architectures and configurations. The project aims to create a dynamic sensor grid supporting decision-making, which will result in tangible operational benefits.
Key areas of activity include:
Developing the EISNET Architecture Framework Tool (EAFT) to ensure full interoperability.
Creating a multi-layered sensor network for the optimal use of resources and data.
Accelerating the exchange of information throughout the command and control chain.
Implementing activities in the field of knowledge integration, studies, design, as well as system prototyping and testing.
Project Consortium
The project is coordinated by the French entity Thales LAS France SAS. The broad, international consortium includes leading European defense companies and research institutions from countries such as France, Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Sweden. The Polish side in the project is represented by XY-Sensing Sp. z o.o. and the Warsaw University of Technology.
