ARRAYS

Developing Technology That Meets Future Needs

ARRAYS – Advanced European RF Components for Wideband Array-Type Radar, Electronic Warfare and Communication Systems is a European research and development project focused on the development of advanced RF technologies for next-generation radar, electronic warfare, and communication systems.

Modern defense systems increasingly rely on advanced radio frequency technologies. Access to high-performance, reliable RF components is therefore not only a matter of technological superiority, but also of strategic autonomy for Poland and Europe.

The ARRAYS project addresses this challenge by strengthening European capabilities to design and deploy advanced RF technologies within its own industrial and technological ecosystem.

The project focuses on the development of high-performance RF components, design methodologies, and integration technologies, delivering critical solutions for advanced wideband radar, electronic warfare, and communication architectures.

Advancing Next-Generation European RF Technology

A key element of the project is bridging the gap between the development of advanced RF components and their practical implementation in radar systems. ARRAYS combines the expertise of partners responsible for component design and engineering with deep domain knowledge in system-level integration.

XYSensing plays an essential role in this framework, taking responsibility for integrating the project-developed RF transceiver modules into the radar platform and demonstrating their enhanced operational capabilities. This enables the technologies under development to be validated within real-world radar applications.

This approach links the development of critical components directly to their application in advanced systems, driving the creation of high-performance, dependable, and resilient next-generation radar solutions.

Strengthening European Technological Sovereignty

Reliance on non-European suppliers for critical components increases security risks and threatens the continuity of the European defense supply chain. ARRAYS aims to close these strategic vulnerabilities by developing critical RF technologies within a European consortium.

Uniting scientific research capabilities, RF component engineering experience, and systems integration expertise provides the foundation for delivering competitive, fully European solutions that address the demands of current and future operational theaters.

The project was officially launched during the kick-off meeting held in Vilnius on January 21–22, 2026.

The ARRAYS Consortium Brings Together Leading European Organizations

The ARRAYS consortium convenes European organizations with specialized expertise in research, component development, and system-level integration:

  • Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology (BPTI) (Lithuania) – Project Coordinator

  • CEA-Leti (France) – RF component design and advanced integration technologies

  • XYSensing Sp. z o.o. (Poland) – Transceiver module integration with the radar platform and capability demonstration

  • INDRA Sistemas S.A. (Spain) – End-user operational perspective and design support aligned with future military requirements
