The REACT II (Responsive Electronic Attack for Cooperation Tasks II)
A flagship initiative funded by the European Defence Fund (EDF 2022). Its primary goal is to significantly enhance the defense capabilities of the European Union's aviation sector through the development of state-of-the-art Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) solutions.
Strategic Overview
In response to an increasingly complex and volatile electromagnetic warfare environment, REACT II addresses critical gaps in the military capabilities of EU Member States. The project builds upon the technological foundations and lessons learned from its predecessor, REACT I (funded under EDIDP-2019).
This initiative is deeply integrated with the EU's Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) framework, specifically in the domain of Airborne Electronic Attack. The REACT II system is designed to provide unprecedented reliability and security for military operations across both the physical airspace and the electromagnetic spectrum.
Key Operational Capabilities
The technology developed within the REACT II framework provides comprehensive support for modern aerial missions:
Escort Jamming: Active protection of friendly aircraft formations during operations in high-threat environments.
Stand-Off Jamming: The ability to neutralize adversary radar and communication networks from a safe, stand-off distance.
Stand-In Jamming: High-precision interference operations conducted in proximity to adversary targets.
Electronic Warfare Command and Control (EW C2): A centralized, integrated platform for managing complex operations in the electromagnetic domain.
Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA): The seamless integration of electronic warfare and cyber operations to secure information dominance.
Consortium Partners
The project is led by Indra Sistemas SA (Spain) as the coordinator and brings together a powerful consortium of European defense leaders, research institutes, and innovative SMEs.
